Something I Said by Ben Bailey Smith

Something I said by Ben Bailey Smith

A hilarious story about family, friendships and how far a boy will go to get a laugh.

Car Taylor is really good at delivering funny comebacks and when he tells jokes about his family and friends at the school talent show his performance goes viral.

Will he chase fame and fortune at the expense of everything else?

I really enjoyed the book and the many plot twists. If any of you are considering reading this book then I suggest you do.

The main character Carmichael Taylor is a normal boy who lives in England. He finds life as a huge joke. Just that he is the only one who gets it. Life was preety much normal for him until that Talent Night and that’s when everything changed. On that Talent Night he targeted his family and teachers joking and saying things about them. However, when someone posts the video life turns around for Carmichael Taylor. Fame and Fortune. How far will he go to get it.

This is quite possibly the best book you can read.

Something I said is an inspiring book about how far a boy will go to get a laugh and the main character is Carmicheal Taylor, an ordinary boy in an ordinary world. But he doesn’t get why everyone takes life so seriously. Something I said is an amazing book, extremely fascinating. I definitely recommend it. This is probably the most fantastic book you can read.

A book of jokes… A flow of words… A masterpiece…
Set in England, a boy is a prodigy for fame, fortune, and followers…or so he believes… One night his life tips into another reality, of which he would change his coarse forever… One night he starts a new road filled with obstacles he must cross… And one night he is destined to understand that family and best friends are more than fame, fortune, followers but it is a wealth that he was born with…
As you open this fantastic novel and begin to take in this extraordinary piece, you like me, would never place the book down, until you have reached the end… An end of this fantastic tale…

Something I said. Sometimes there were too many things Carmichael said that he shouldn’t have. His whole life people have been mocking him and making fun of him but finally he can prove everyone wrong. Read this thrilling book to see how Car overcomes everything in his way.

I enjoyed reading this book, with some laugh out loud parts! Car (Carmichael) is in Year 8 at school, he’s a fun boy to be around, bit of a joker, he’s cheeky and although this cheekiness got him into trouble at school and with his family, it also took him to America! It’s a story of friendship, family and fun.
I particularly liked it when he called School…

This is an AMAZING book that I wish would never end. Ben Bailey Smith has created a piece that is so funny and imaginative, I wish their was a sequel!

This inspiring masterpiece shows you a lot, and has made me stop and rethink. It may help other readers to think before they speak.
However, this book is also hilarious and I can see a bit of me in Carmichael.

So, if you’re into humour and would like a slightly easy book to read, this is the book for you! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Hello, I like this book very much because it gives you the perspective of a school boy with a very sharp tongue yet he says he is also a ‘nerd’ in English while he is terrible at everything else.Carmichael is also very sharp-witted which helps him if he gets into a spot of trouble, but that doesn’t help when he gets expelled! I just wish that Car’s dad would share his opinion more often.

The only bad thing about this book is the exaggeration of how often kids use certain slang words featured in this book. However, I found that apart from that it was very interesting due to the way the book had a lot of inner conflict, such as Car grappling with the idea of the talent show. Car is constantly being encouraged by the English teacher to use his literary talents, however his bad boy nature rebels against the idea.

Something I Said is a very emotional book, with lots of twists on the way… Carmichael Taylor thought about life as a joke. But talent night twisted things around… nothing was the same. Even his best friend, Alex, seemed a bad influence. I strongly recommend this fantastic book if you fancy emotional rides!

I liked when Car got to go to America so he could be on the missy show. I wish that he did insult his parents and did what he did at the talent show: tell jokes about his family; insulting jokes. I think Alex shouldn’t have forgiven Car because he called her an idiot when it was an accident. On the other hand, Alex should have double checked because if Car told her to take a video that would make him famous down, then she should know that something was up. I think Lan should have been angry at Car for hanging up on him when he was trying to tell him something. I also have a question for Ben Bailey Smith: are you going to write a sequel?

I loved this book as it was nice to see an adult understand the life of a secondary school student. The book had many twists and turns so I was always content with the story. I personally think that ‘Something I Said’ is one of the best books I have ever read! This book is very humorous whilst having an important message threaded throughout! The book focuses on the main character, Carmichael Taylor, and highlights how being funny can sometimes also be offensive to the ones that you love. In his pursuit of fame Carmichael forgets to appreciate his close friends and family and risks being permanently excluded from a school where he has good friends and teachers that support him. Luckily, Carmichael learns his lesson in the nick of time and manages to repair his relationships with his loved ones. I would highly recommend this book and give it a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating!

I absolutely love this book. The twists were great. Something I Said is phenomenal. I was so looking forward to reading this book but I had no idea I would enjoy it this much. I love how Carmichael thinks that he can do anything without consequences.I can’t believe Car and Alex were best of friends until we’ll things got out of hand. I’m so glad that Car came to his senses and chose the people he love over fame. Whilst I was reading when I was at the part where the Missy Show was about to start. I felt like telling Car not to listen to George Lacey. Ben Bailey Smith was wrote an amazing book that I have really enjoyed. Five stars from me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

His uncle was very heart-warming and caring to Car. But there are things Car took a bit to far like what he said at the school talent show about his family, teachers and friends. This book is based on a character called Carmichael. I believe your first impressions of him are given through the front cover of the book. Due to being able to identify that Carmichael is a very comedic character. As I read the start of the book, I was able to identify that his comedic character started from young. It was not encouraged in ironic situations. Whereas, when he got older, it was more encouraged by his friends. Although his teachers had had enough of him, so he made regular visits to his head of year.

His slightly embarrassing and hysterical moments are really what put this book together as in one of the major points in the book his actions had a consequence that was good and bad but somehow with the good opportunities, he makes more of a reason for his consequence to impact his life. Until Carmichael finds a way to make up for his behaviour that fixes his problems drastically. This event revealed that Carmichael has a strong bond with his uncle although his uncle is overlooked by most people.

Overall, I would say this book is recommended to young children based on the humorous storyline and plot. The author Ben Bailey Smith has set a colloquial tone throughout the book through his selection of words that are inclusive to the targeted reader as at some point you would be able to relate to the character. I consider the book a fast read as the words used are very lucid. This book shows stages in Carmichael’s life where he feels and shows a convey of emotions that he never felt until he discovered his self-identity and confidence. He was able to see who Carmichael really was and prove he was more than his jokes but a respectable and sincere person. This was a part in his life where he matured and realized his impact on others and not just himself. Which I think is very influential to young children as they can look up to his admirable and enthusiastic moments.

I would defiantly recommend this book to the ages 8 and above as it teaches you that your actions come with a heavy burden that should be considered through all the stages of your life and recognize your actions’ impacts on others. Then again it teaches you that even when you make mistakes you should own up to it as you can be rewarded for your honesty. Additionally, it is a delightful book if you are a very comedic person yourself.

Clever, funny and entertaining – I loved this novel. It is rare for a book to make me laugh out loud but this one did. The author turns commonly expressed opinions into intelligent observations which are hilarious. The explanations of vocabulary and context will probably stick with readers more than if taught in a classroom. Something I said (written by stand-up comedian Ben Bailey Smith) is a comedic book aimed at younger readers. I would recommend this to anyone who loves to laugh. Carmichael’s life (a usual year 8 who hates school, like us all) is full of jokes. This book, coming from a professional comedian, is very promising. It’s not my usual read, (It’s hard to make me laugh, and I don’t appreciate jokes very much) but I will say, if you have a strong sense of humour BEWARE! The jokes are guaranteed to catch you off guard!
The main character, Carmichael, doesn’t like school. His favourite subject is English, and when the time comes, he writes a poem for the school talent show. This story celebrates the idea of not giving up, and trying again, just like Carmichael does in the story. He gets ridiculed, laughed at, called names, and yet he Is bold enough to ignore them, and make a good decision in the end. One example is the final few chapters of the book, where he gives up fame for his family. He matures throughout the book and even creates a comedy club for others to be just like him!
I think there is a lot of lessons to be learnt in this book. Carmichael didn’t care about his friends, family and even his own career, but he eventually found his way in the end. I think that’s why the author wrote this book. People make mistakes all the time, but some take it too far. His best friend Alex, tried to help car, but he still hated her for what she did. That’s why we should appreciate the book, it relates a lot to real life, as this does happen to some people.
The storyline in this book is well-structured which makes it incredibly fun to read, although I found the book a bit predictable. Carmichael has a un-supportive jerk of a brother who does nothing but hang out with his so-called ‘friends’.  There is a lot of unnecessary humour in this novel, But I love it. My class read the book together, loving just about every part of it. I will say though, it is meant for younger readers, as I don’t think older audiences will find them too funny.
Overall, a great read. I would love to see a sequel to this book. Some of the jokes are exponentially funny, and most teens will get a few chuckles here and there., Most people wouldn’t read a comedic book, but this novel is a great example of why we should at least give them an opportunity. Our class loved it and would recommend it to anyone- whether you’re the class clown or not.

Something I said by Ben Bailey Smith – Book Review

“This book is astonishing it was so funny I could barely put it down”

The “Something I Said” book is by a great author and comedian called Ben Bailey Smith. It’s about a young boy called Carmichael who hates school. This is unusual because most kids don’t like school but behave well because they want to get good grades but Car hates school and doesn’t care what he gets on tests. The book happeneds all throughout an academic school year. The story begins in a slow way which might not be appealing to some readers but when you carry on reading a bit more then you will get into all the interesting trouble that Car got himself into. He includes very funny quotes like “I kicked a chicken” which is very funny and will make you laugh out loud. The events of the story follow on from one another by the narration by the main character. If you have a great sense of humour, then this brilliant book will defiantly make you have a few chuckles

The main characters are Carmichael, Alex (his best friend) and his brother Malky. I would describe Carmichael as funny, relatable because he is my age so I can personally relate to him. The other character Malky (his older brother) is naughty, tries to get the attention and most of all tries to show off in front of his friends. The author described the characters in detail. For example, he said that Car had a long ginger afro and that Malky was older, better looking but not the sharpest. The character I most liked was the Dad because he was just happy for having his family with him and is really calm about everything. I did not like Malky because he always gets in Car’s business especially at the talent show. He also thinks that he is better than everyone else.

I feel like the main relationship was between Car and Alex as they are partners in crime. They are quite similar as they both get into trouble, and it is a really funny and relatable friendship. The characters that have changed are Carmichael and Malky. For example, Car at the start of the book was a young kid who didn’t care but. As he matures and reflects throughout the book, he opens a comedy club to share his feeling about joke as to tell them to people who won’t take it personally.

The story is written in first person

The story is written in first person some readers might like this more than others so they can feel like they are with him. This is important to the story so we can find out Cars inner thought and felling. Like when he was on stage, he said Infront of everyone “my parents are idiots” this shows that he doesn’t care about what his parents think of him. However, this is at the start of the book and if you read on then he would never do it again.

file:////Users/carolinagarcia/Library/Group%20Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/TemporaryItems/msohtmlclip/clip_image001.png

The settings are described in very good detail, for example when he travels to America he enters a restaurant and he says “The light was a dingy red, provided by a shaded bulbs sat in lamps around twenty small circular tables”. How the characters felt were described in detail as when he was on stage the writer even wrote about the microphone and when the crowd went wild and said ‘ooh’ and ‘Oh no why did he say that’

I think this story is really good because even though he gets into lots of trouble there is still a meaning behind it. He is a lonely boy and the only way of not feeling lonely is to make jokes out of people. I think the writer wanted to tell this story because maybe when he was young, he felt like he was always getting into trouble and just wanted some understanding from the teachers. The book made me feel quite sad for Car because you know he didn’t mean it he just wanted to not feel lonely. It also made me laugh a TON which makes this book stand out from all the others. I would recommend the author as he makes the book feel like you are there in person.

Ben Bailey Smith by Ben Bailey Smith

Something I said by Ben Bailey Smith was first published in 2021 in Great Britain.
The story follows the life of a young boy called Carmichael and is written in first person, so you know his thoughts and feelings of his life. It is very relatable as Car hates school, though he expresses his feelings very differently from the average secondary school child. This book is set over his time in year 8. The story begins in a very mysterious and slow way, meaning that the book is filled with suspense, wanting you to carry on and see what will happen next.
Carmichael is a very mischievous and witty boy, that is strongly opinionated. He spends most of his time in school in his teacher, Mr French’s office, in trouble for something irresponsible he has done. I think that in reality, inside, Car is a very lonely boy that only wants to fit in and all he wants is to be known in the school and have more friends like everyone else.
His best friend Alex is very supportive of him and loyal as well as being his partner in crime. Ben Bailey Smith describes Alex as being a very boyish, messy and goofy character that is unkept, this is a great description of her and leaves a clear image in your head of what she looks like. Personally, she is my favourite character in the story because she is always very understanding towards Car and is never jealous of the attention he receives.
One of the characters in the book that I strongly dislike is George (he owns a show Car goes on near the end called the Missy Show). I found him very frustrating and annoying because he didn’t care about Car when he was on the show and was disappointed with his performance.
Throughout the whole book the character I think changed the most was Car because at the beginning he was very rude and never thought of how what he said in his jokes affected people. By the end of the book, he had come to realise how he was wrong and apologised to everyone and changed his jokes to not include how he thought of people. He also then creates a club for other people to laugh and have fun and learn comedy.
Overall, I found the book very exciting and thought it was filled with very unexpected and amusing moments. In my opinion, at the beginning, the book was very slow and could have been a bit for interesting, though the further I got into the book the more invested and intrigued I was. I would definitely recommend this for 10–12-year-olds as the jokes are aimed at this age and are very relatable.

Something I said by Ben Bailey Smith
Something I said is a comedic book published in 2021 by Bloomsbury. It is about a boy named Carmichael struggling at school and maturing as he goes through school. It reminds me of Diary of The Wimpy Kid as it is about his everyday life and what he is doing all day and his thought. He also doesn’t like school.
Carmichael also known as Car has to go through school with not much support from his parents or teachers as he is always silly and not concentrating. He also is rude and gives a lot of attitudes towards his teachers. His older brother Malky teases him and teases him and makes life at school even harder for Car. This book has some good jokes that made my whole class laugh out loud!
This book is very relatable as he does a lot of things that we would have done when we were at school. He also makes some remarks that we agree and sometimes disagree with, so we feel involved with what is happening. Although this book was good, I found it wasn’t really for as I personally didn’t really like the storyline and I didn’t find some of the jokes very funny as they were either to childish or I didn’t understand them. However, I would recommend this for all ages as it has something for everyone.
Although Car doesn’t really have many people supporting him there are three people that do. His English teacher Miss Miller is very supportive of Car and keeps on telling him to try things and is very nice to him and his Uncle Lann is very supportive of Carmichael and helps him write his poem that his English teacher wants him to write for the talent show his parent are making him do. Both of them are very supportive of Car. Also his best friend Alex.
This book is very good for people that love to look back on their school life and what they have done. I would also recommend this for people that love a good laugh because there are many different jokes for younger people and older people as there is a big variety of “roasts” and of course the jokes like I said before.
Although I didn’t like the book, my favourite character was Alex as she was always by Cars side when he needed her to be and was always making him laugh. But she also gets Carmichael into trouble but they both laughed it off. She helped him develop his character a lot as well so I think she was the most helpful to Car as there are so many incidences where she helps him a lot. She is also funny.
This book is written in the first person which I think was a good choice by the author as it makes it easier to understand as otherwise at some points you wouldn’t know what is going on because so much is happening at once which in first person makes it better because it makes us think how he would feel in the moment of all these things on him. If it was in third person this would be very hard do as it would be talking about all the characters and how he felt and it would not be easily understood like the book is.
The book takes is through the course of a school year and through the whole thing it is explained in great depth how the characters felt at that moment for example when Carmichael is performing it shows how shocked the audience is when Car starts to “roast” his parent, his brother, his brothers friends and the teachers with out actually saying what happened.
One of my favourite parts of the story is when Carmichael gets really angry and kicks the chicken a sit shows the parents characteristics by how they react to what just happened. When the mom shouts up to the dad ‘Stu he just kicked a chicken!’ we can infer a lot about the mum. This book as well as being a comedy you could also classify it as a drama as so many things happen to Car and that effect his life and change his personality and how he thinks about life.
So many people in my class loved this book and thought is was so funny that I would give good remarks about this book despite not liking it as I know how much other people would like it.
The quote at the start of the book and what Car says after tells us so much at the start of the book. The quote is:
“IS EVERYTHING A JOKE TO YOU CARMICHAEL!”

Something I said is a very funny book, It is about a little boy (about 13) who hates school, this can be unusual but also normal as some people enjoy going to school to meet there friends and to learn in there favourite topic, but also this can be normal as some people hate to go to school and would rather stay home all day and play video games, and it all happens over an academic year (a school year). The main characters are Carmichael (a boring teenager who would rather stay at home all day instead of school) and Alex (a quite interesting teen who is Carmichael’s best friend). The author (Ben Bailey Smith) described Carmichael in little detail as I got a vision of Carmichael only from the book cover. Carmichael changed a lot over the course of the book, which you will find surprising. This book is wrote in first person as Carmichael. The settings are also described in little detail as I couldn’t even picture one scene in my head. I think the writer told this story because he wanted people to have a laugh and realise the preciousness of education. I would recommend this book to young people who enjoy having a laugh and who enjoy funny books. I would totally read more books from this author as he makes his books funny and it’s easy to understand. I enjoyed this book because it made me laugh from time to time and its enjoyable. the only thing I find unusual about the book is that the title (in my opinion) doesn’t go with the book, but apart from that it is a funny and exiting book to read.

Something I Said by Ben Bailey Smith – Book Review

Something I Said is a book written by Ben Bailey Smith and published first in 2021 in London.

Something I Said is a novel that follows Year 8 student Carmichael Taylor through his everyday life. This book is written somewhat like a diary – it’s written in first person and Car shares his thoughts about the current situation he’s in throughout the story. Car’s character is described as chaotic and clumsy for the first part of the story.
The story starts casually and instead of actually describing what’s happening, the author decides to explain Car’s character for the first few chapters. Early on in the story, we meet the main cast, which include Car’s mum, dad, brother Malky and friend Alex. Car lives in London and he thoroughly dislikes school, but has a special talent for English – this means he is good at witty remarks and quick comebacks. This is perfect for his role as class clown.
In my personal opinion, I think that Car’s narration is an important part of this story, as it gives a lot of insight about Car’s feelings on the situation.
I would say that the three main characters would be Malky, Car and Alex. Car is obviously the protagonist of the story, being charismatic and funny towards anyone he can. His best friend, Alex, is very similar to Car; she is described as being clumsy and funny. She always tries hard to be a really good friend to Car, because she is supportive and optimistic.
Malky, Car’s brother, could be seen as the antagonist of the story. He has two friends named Dane and TJ, and he never misses the opportunity to taunt and make fun of Carmichael in front of them.
Unlike Car and Alex, Car and Malky are very much opposites. As it is described in the story by Car, ‘He was sporty, I was nerdy. He was tall, I was short. He was an idiot, I was brilliant.’
Some of the funniest parts in Something I Said really relied on Car’s narration. Half of the jokes and laughs by this book would probably have to be reworked or even removed if it wasn’t in first person. Also, it was very relatable as this book’s recommended audience would be from ages 9-13, and these ages would still be in school – this means that they would know school as well as Car. Some of the greatest and funniest quotes in this book include:
-‘My parents are idiots’,
-‘Even nature hates geography!’
-‘That’s right. I kicked a chicken.’
There were also some ‘break’ chapters every few chapters, and these chapters kind of summarised the story thus far. They talked more about Car’s feelings and didn’t progress the plot, like the beginning of the book.
In summary, I think that this book did really well at what it wanted to achieve. It was funny, relatable, laid-back and chaotic in all the best ways. It had many jokes, and though some were a bit childish, I still enjoyed most of them greatly.
I would definitely recommend this book to ages 9-13, because they would be at school and around the same age as Car, and this means that they would be able to enjoy Car’s jokes to the fullest.
The characters were also explained and expressed well by the author.

Something I said by Ben Bailey Smith-review

The story is about a 12-year-old boy called Carmichael who believes everything is a joke this is normal because every teenager doesn’t fully believe in doing schoolwork. It all happens during a course of a academic year, The story begins in a slow way. The events of the story follow on from one another by the events of Car’s life.

The main characters are Carmichael and Alex I would describe Carmichael as funny, cheeky, mischievous, disrespectful, carefree , annoying and irresponsible. The other character, Alex is funny, kind, respectful , a little bit cheeky , responsible and caring. The author described them in great detail for example they really showed the reality of what school was like and how hard it can be. The character I most liked was Alex because she is still cheeky but still is respectful and is always making sure Car is ok. I did not like Carmichael because he wasn’t bothered about anything and was rude and disrespectful.

The main relationship was between Alex and Carmichael I would describe it as best friends bouncing of each other and having a laugh but if they argued they would argue like siblings. The characters that changed during the story is Carmichael because he matured and became more respectful .This is what happened he matured and became more reflective by running a comedy club.

The story is written in the first person, This is important to the story because it shows how someone’s life actually is and not from somebody else’s perspective. The setting is described in great detail because it tells you where you are like school, home or somewhere else and I can tell from the book where he is.
How the characters felt and behaved were describe In great depth , for example Alex she was described in great depth because they showed how Alex put up with Carmichael even when they didn’t get along that well. It was a good story because it was relatable , funny, but also showed that Carmichael was cheeky which made it more interesting .I would of liked to changed, nothing !! I think this book was more unique than usual books I would read this again I loved the plot it was amazing definitely recommend this book .

I think the writer wanted to tell this story because it shows that kids enjoy to have fun and be cheeky but also for them to realise that it is good to have fun but make sure you get your work done . This book made me feel excited and interested for what was gonna come next and especially how it ends ….. It made me think about what my school year could be like next academic year but I definitely relate to some of the things Carmichael does . I think its important to say the book is fun, cheeky, michevous and interesting !because it has things that are relatable makes u smile and laugh . I would recommend this book to people that love to have a laugh as makes people laugh and is relatable.

Something I Said by Ben Bailey Smith
BOOK REVIEW

this book is a comedic book wrote by Ben Bailey Smith. This book is published in 2021 by Bloomsbury. Ben Bailey Smith, the author of the book is also a successful actor and rapper, he is also named as Doc Brown. This book is about a boy named Carmichael, he is a boy who founds everything funny and always wanted to skip school, except when is English lessons, he loves them. This book links to Carmichaels school life in year 8. Being an immature boy like car, is always hard to understand life before failing enough times, and that’s what car did. The book talks about him getting over various troubles and hilarious and embarrassing moments. Different from other people who failed, he wont be upset or sad, he always finds them funny and doesn’t really bothers, also because of his unique way to face failure , he life totally changed, he became a more mature and serious person, he also found the correct way to make people laugh, therefore he created a comedy club . This book is an amazing book filled with jokes inside, is written by a stand up comedian, Ben Bailey smith.

Although this book didn’t really work for me as the jokes inside are a bit too childish for me , but still, I would strongly recommend this book to children aged 8-10, also, if you’re a person who love comedy and loves, jokes, this book, would definitely be your new favorite book. The main character of this book is, Carmichael, which I mentioned, and also his best friend, Alex. Alex is a really outgoing and caring person , she is one of the ones, who were very supportive to Car . When I was reading this book, I realized that quite a lot of things mentioned by Car in the book are really related to our school life such as where he said “I AM THE GOD OF HELL FIRE!’ while using the Bunsen burner in science, I believe all of us want to do it if the teacher is not here. This book is written is first person, which is lets us easier to get into, Carmichael’s life and his unique world, also it helps us understand the complicated storyline. I think the writer wrote this story, because it may be his own real-life experience. I think is an important thing to say that this book is a really good book for young adult to read and to learn how to experience failure and never give up. How the characters felt and behaved are described in great depth, for example how Car’s life is detailly plotted and how he detailly described how Car thought.

Overall, I think this book is an amazing book filled with laughter’s , there is a lots of roasts inside, which makes the book really enjoyable, I hope all of you can have a go at reading such a good book.

This story is about a boy called Carmichael, and his life is a Joke to him. I personally love this book and it’s a great humorous book for people with good Humour and I recommend it to people aged 10-14 (young adults) it’s got great quotes and it uses slang that teenagers now a-days would use/ understand which makes the book 10x funnier. The main characters are Carmichael, Alex, Malky and Car’s parents. My favourite character is Carmichael, and I would describe him as a devious, intelligent person and I would describe Malky as annoying and Mischievous. Whereas Alex is quite cool and chill about most things and will normally be there for car in an instant. The author described Carmichael in detail because he described the way he looked, the way he felt, the things he wanted to say, and it is also produced in a great way with putting It in a dairy concept. I also feel like sometimes Car will bottle up his emotions and feelings, but when he is with Alex, he will open to her even if his parents didn’t like Alex and thought she was a bad influence he was still always best friends with her. I really do enjoy this book as it has a meaning behind it and that is that Carmichael doesn’t have any good friends except Alex, and he is reaching out with his jokes to make more friends because that is his humour, but nobody understands him except Alex, but his parents don’t approve of Alex and Carmichael wouldn’t of had anybody. But then it came as a shock when Car matured and he started to get his homework done and act responsibly like his other classmates but that wasn’t Carmichael, Car was jokes and humour not work and responsible. And that’s one of the best traits of Carmichael. I would read this book tons of times and I wouldn’t get bored that is how good Something I said is, I don’t regret reading it as it showed me a meaning to jokes and how much meaning there is behind Humour.
