This book is a book full of magical mystery and suspense written by David Farr quite recently!
The story is about two siblings named Rachel and Robert finding themselves forced to protect a book named ‘The Book Of Stolen Dreams’ from an evil President. They must find out its secret and keep it away from the President to avoid him ruling Krasnia, where Rachel and Robert live.
I would recommend this book to all kids, especially children interested in magical mystery and suspense. It should be targeted for 9-16 yr olds but it is suitable for almost all ages for above 7! I guarantee that this book would be enjoyable and interesting to read and it will be one of the most terrific books you have read and it will get you hooked!!

I absolutely loved this book. A perfect mix of mystery and fantasy combined with a world of wonder. David Farr has created an amazing masterpiece. The only thing that I would say was a bit harsh is how when Josef had the courage to own up to what he had done Rachel just left him. I know he had lied to her but he actually regretted his actions. I wished Josef had been forgiven instead of leaving him in a pit of despair and knowledge that he had done something wrong. At least he earned Rachel’s trust. Other than that AMAZING BOOK DAVID FARR!!!!!! Can’t wait for more information on the blood red key!

I think that (the book of stolen dreams)is a mysterious and magical book that inspirers the you that you can do anything.I think that it is aimed at 9-17 readers;I like Rachel and Robert and how they are not very nervous to do anything and they are very secretive but I also think it’s sad how the father got taken away from them, just because he was trying to save the book, but I also think it’s happy how they get to find him. Great book David farr!

This was one of my favourite books so far of the JBA. It is about 2 twins that fight to protect a very special book called “the book of stolen dreams” ,and will leave you at the edge of your seat, with mysteries and plot twists at every turn. This is a quite lengthy book, but it is worth it, and it is on my “top 10 list” right now. It is mostly aimed at 9-15 year olds, but i read parts of it to my 7 year old brother, and he loved it! It will get you hooked from the very first word and you will not be able to put it down until the very last one. Its a very good book and i reccommend it ; if you are looking for a good book to read next, this is the one!

I thought that this book would not be very good when I saw it, but when I started reading it I couldn’t put it down. It is set in a dystopian world where no one has a choice about anything. They live with the Tyrant, Charles Malstain (who especially hates children). Even though he hates children, two brave children, Robert and Rachel, try to stand up against him and find cruel things happening behind the scenes. I believe that the main theme of this book is bravery because if the children weren’t brave they would be living with a tyrant the rest of their lives. I understand why this is in the Juniper Book Awards.

At first I wasn’t sure I would like this book, but David Farr, you absolutely smashed it. I agree with souhayla: Josef should have been given another chance. At least he put things right at the end. I begged my parents to buy me the second book after I finished this one. The cliffhanger about the blood red key is genius. It hooks people in and putting a sliver of the second book in gives them more information about it. My favourite character was Robert because he was the person who I think suffered the most and didn’t show it.
I would definitely recommend this for anyone who is interested in fantasy and dystopian worlds.

I have a few questions for you
1. Why didn’t Rachel and Robert destroy the book as soon as they got it?
2. Will they ever get their mother back?
3. Will Charles Malastain return?
4. Is Walter Meyer going to die?

The Book of Stolen Dreams by David Farr is a tense, thrilling adventure story with lots of ups and downs. Although it has little character description, I would highly recommend this book for Harry Potter lovers. The Book of Stolen Dreams is suitable for 9-13 year olds. This story is about a brother and a sister who are reigned by an evil president. My favourite character is Robert because he is quite cheeky and clever. This book really hooks the reader in and I could not put it down. In my opinion, the story has quite an abrupt ending which makes the reader keep wanting more. I think I would definitely read another book by David Farr and I am extremely eager to read the sequel.

The Book of Stolen dreams is one of the best books I have ever read and is sure to remain there for a long time mainly because the plot is very convincing and I felt as though I was there transported to the huge bustling Krasnia. It also had many twists and turns to keep you hooked on every page, there are heart-breaking moments and laugh-out-loud ones. The plot tells the tale of Rachel and Robert Klein who are forced to protect The Book of Stolen Dreams from the evil president Charles Malstain at all costs and find its life-changing secret. If I had to find one small problem, I would say there is little character description. Though personally this book ticks all my boxes. I would recommend this masterpiece to children from 9 to 16 and Harry Potter fans. I can easily see why The Book of Stolen Dreams has been chosen for Juniper book awards and it is sure to be a terrific read!

The Book Of Stolen Dreams by the talented author David Farr, is such a grasping book I just couldn’t put it down. I found myself reading until midnight not being able to it down. I would highly recommend this thriller mystery for 9-14 year old’s as the vocabulary is advanced and very descriptive ; a wonderful feature. This book includes a bit of everything, mystery, fantasy, and to me humor but there are many more. I can assure you this marvelous novel will stay with you long after you read it and definitely won’t disappoint. I was wondering though if the hopefully, intriguing fascinating sequel will bring more answers to me as I love a cliff hanger but for me I usually need it to be summed up and finished even it isn’t in a proper book. I was extremely excited in the blood red key. I adored how at the end the author gave an extra piece of information. A main question I would ask is if there could be more back story on the characters especially Josef Centurion, Felix Klein, also Judith Klein. I would give it 4 and a half stars.

I think The Book of Stolen Dreams is an exciting thriller full of adventure, suspense and, the spectacular novel really hooks the reader in. It is a clear and easy to follow story line, I also like how the book jumps around between the main characters Rachel and Robert Klein .

The epic adventure story shows the run and excitement of the Klein’s flee from the evil dictator Charles Malstain. With detailed characters, I would recommend the book for Harry Potter lovers and 7-13 year old’s. With heartbreaking moments, funny parts and adventure chases, this book ticks all my boxes and I really recommend it. I can’t wait for the sequel!

A story of two children (Rachel and Robert Klein) Trying to rescue their father from prison by smuggling a rare book out of the city and away from a evil dictator called Charles Malstain.
President Malstain wants the book because he believes it will cure him of his illness, and let him live forever. Working with an underground group called the KRF, the children risk everything to save their father and keep each other alive.

I liked the description of the characters and their different personalities.

The story starts quite slow with the events that unfold in Brava, but it gets quicker as the story goes on, and soon they are on a adventure to keep the Book of Stolen Dreams safe.

I like the puzzles and the hidden clues. They make you feel like you are part of the story with the characters.

When the children’s mother dies I found it really sad, and it’s the only part of the book I would like to change.

I would definitely recommend this book to other people, especially if they like adventure stories.

The Book of Stolen Dreams is an engaging adventure story, following two siblings on a hair-raising quest to secure Krasnia’s freedom from the eternal rule of an evil tyrant.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book because the author spoke directly to the reader, and made me feel like a part of the story. I also liked the way that David Farr slowly drip-fed the reader information, making me want to read on.

The characters were extremely well written and throughout the narrative, I found myself changing my opinion about which characters I trusted.

Overall, this is a fantastic book, and I urge all 8-13 year-olds to read it! come on, “you are invited!”

This book is marvellous as it talks to the reader to hook the reader in. This book I would recommend to 9-16 but I would still recommend to others. This novel has fantasy, mystery and sections of realism which makes it exciting. I could not put this book down. The story has a dream after most of the chapters which makes it seems real. Sometimes it was a bit tricky to follow because it jumps between characters. I like how they summarise it in a newspaper which made it feel real. There are still questions floating in the air unanswered.

The Book of Stolen Dreams is the best fantasy story I have read from JBA. I have enjoyed the quest immensely as it engages everyone into the hunt and trust plays a huge role in bringing joy to Krasnia once again.
Set in a fantasy world, a tyrannous president – Charles Malstain – has taken over Krasnia. On that same day he was elected, Rachel Klein was born. Under his rule, the capital: Brava, became a “ghost town”. While suffering from health problems, Malstain starts to imprison people. There is only one thing that can save the president’s life – a book. All this while, that book is shared to a librarian – Rachel’s father: Felix. He is told to safeguard it from the President at all costs and it holds many secrets. Later in the story with only the children in the open, they find the shocking secret behind the book that could seal Krasnia’s fate forever. In order to protect their home from ruin, they travel all over the country and meet brave people who help them find success.
The main theme of the story is that everyone should be offered freedom to speak. My favourite character is Josef since he is the personification of trust because he does not judge anyone. He chose to follow his own thoughts which always helped his ‘leader’.
In my opinion, this dystopian read is full of suspense and mystery and an adventure mixed in a dystopian world make this truly a wonderful read. I would recommend this book to readers aged nine onwards and Harry Potter lovers.

As soon as I set eyes on this magical book, I knew it would be good. The title is very eye-catching and it has that magical force that makes you want to pick it up and read it. It is a magical and mysterious book as the two heroes save the day. I recommend this book to people who enjoy fantasy fiction, dreaming, and exciting events. This book shows how much young people deserve to have to say in our world. My favorite character was Joseph, Robert, and Rachel Klein. It surprises me how determined they were to stop President Malstain and save Krasnia. I would recommend reading the story at night so you will feel what position Robert and Racheal are in. I have a few questions to ask:

  1. Are you a dreamer?
  2. Were you inspires by reading stories at night?
  3. Are any moments in the story inspired by your life?
  4. Can you play the violin?

Great job David Farr and I honestly can’t wait until the next book comes out.

The Book of Stolen Dreams is an immensely powerful story that submerges you into its icy, mysterious abyss until you are engulfed in its penetrating plot.

This particular story immediately tugged me into the dense, meandering plot which is beautifully written and fills in the right amount of gaps but leaves the key mysteries undiscovered. It is such a thrilling action adventure that is impossible to put down and it is unbearable whilst waiting for the alarming secrets to unfold. I was completely captured by the intriguing characters that stood up for what they believed in and were incredibly brave in their mission to help Rachel and Robert.

The story opens with 12 year old Rachel and Robert Klein helping their father to steal a mysterious book that they have to keep safe at all costs. Tragically, Rachel’s mother died and her father has been taken to a faraway prison. She frantically escapes the city of Brava on the airship heading to Port St. Clement. Then, she meets Josef Centurion who seems to want to help. Understandably, she is quite suspicious and is careful not to tell him her real name, why she’s looking for her brother and, of course, what she is hiding in her sock. Rachael is determined to keep the secret because she knows that she will be able to reunite with her father and it is the key to freeing Brava from the spiteful, cold hearted dictator, Charles Malstain.

Rachel is a young obstinate girl who is confident in what she believes in. She will not rest until she finds how to shut the gates of Hinterland and defeats President Malstain. Her stubbornness and certainty of knowing how to do the right thing greatly contrasts with the unpredictable Josef Centurion. Unlike Rachel, he is hesitant in making the right decisions because he is an unsure person that can easily be bribed into evilness. However, Rachel helps him to stand up for what he believes in and he finds that he does have bravery inside him.

I would recommend this book to anyone who seeks to go on a journey through treacherous times and explore the characters’ thoughts and feelings. Also, you have to think for yourself in order to work out the characters’ thought -provoking secrets and delve deep to deduce what is happening. I feel it definitely deserves the maximum marks possible: five stars! Will you join Robert and Rachel and face disastrous peril, dubious individuals and unbearable longing?

The Book Of Stolen Dreams is officially one of my favourite books because of the suspension throughout. I don’t think you could of made it any better! What I love about the book is that Robert and Rachel Klein have great bravery and don’t stop fighting until they have peace for all of Krasnia. I think at the end I knew that President Malstain would die because how ill he was with incurable cancer. I also love how all the dreams are in the book as you go along its almost like the sugar in my tea it works really well together. The book is quite gripping all the way through so I feel I can’t put it down. I think David Farr has worked really hard on this book and its a pleasure to read!

The Book Of Stolen Dreams is now officially one of my personal favourites due to the superb vocabulary and the amazing storyline. If I were to find this book in a library, I would absolutely pick it up, and if I read the blurb, instantly, I would desire to find out more. The vocabulary in this book really shocked me as to how descriptive it is. In all the scenes, and I mean, all the scenes, the events were vividly illustrated into my mind, and that’s what makes a good book! The amount of suspense inside this read is unreal, making me want to unread it again, just so I could feel the tension over and over. Without the gripping storyline, it would be like a cake without the icing, and that just feels incomplete. I would recommend this book to 10-12 year olds, because of the violence in the action chapters. This read is perfect for all kinds of readers, especially adventure lovers! Overall, The Book Of Stolen Dreams totally blew me away – now this is my kind of book!

”The Book Of Stolen Dreams” by David Farr, is an amazing book for all fantasy and magic lovers. It has twists and turns on every page and is constantly leaving cliff-hangers as it switches between the two brilliant characters Rachel and Robert Klein. It is set in the land of Krasnia where an evil President has made the once-proud city of Brava into a cruel and unforgiving place, and wants to use the mystical powers of the Book of Stolen Dreams for himself. I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it. If you are 8+ and enjoy reading about fantasy and adventure this could be the book for you.

The story is set in the fictional land of Krasnia in it’s capital Brava. Krasnia has fallen under the reign of the terrible Charles Malstain, so the main characters, Rachel and Robert, are forced to steal a magic book before Charles can get his hands on it.

The book is written in the third person, but switches between the characters every chapter as if it was in the first person.

There is also poetry in the book that David wrote himself!

The story is beautifully told and very impressive because it is Farr’s first book for children.

The book was, in short amazing. The plot and characters bonded perfectly and the foils in the story really did their job. From Joseph to Malstain, the characters are really described in-depth and their backstories are very interesting. It’s strange to think that this could technically be true especially since there’s no magic or futuristic tech. The difference between what’s going on overseas between Rachel and Robert. Robert trying to kill Malstain. Rachel trying to escape his wrath. Altogether, a very good and hooking read.

The ”Book of Stolen dreams” by David Farr tells the story of Robert Klein and Rachel Klein protecting the book of Stolen Dreams. It’s set in an imaginary world called Krasnia where the Book of Stolen Dreams was kept hidden. The main characters in the story are Robert and Rachel. The ‘baddie’ in the book is President Malstain. There are lots of other brilliant characters in the story like Josef Centurion. The book is written in the 3rd person. The writing is highly effective because the book can switch from person to person. The genre of this book is adventure. The hunt is on. It is set in an imaginary world cold Brava, where children are not allowed outside. The main characters in the story are Rachel and Robert. The ‘baddie’ in the book is Charles Malstain and his army. There are other lots of brilliant characters including Joseph Centurion, Felix, Walter and Solomon, who you will get to know better in the story if you read it. The book is written in third person. The writing is highly effective because it uses powerful verbs, short sentences and cliff-hangers. Genre of this book is adventure and fantasy. I would recommend “The Book of Stolen Dreams” to 9+. If you liked Percy Jackson, you will probably love this book.

“The Book of Stolen Dreams” immediately drew me in, as it started in an interesting way – setting the scene before introducing the characters. From the first few pages, you have an instant sense of mysteriousness; this is because David Farr has written it in such a fantastic way. He has used a wide variety of language and phrases which sound intriguing and strange – examples of this could be: desperate fugitives; through the shadows; alone;”is she in danger?”; frozen darkness and “suffer – or flee”.

Another reason I thought this book was amazing, was the fact it was structured in such a complex way. It has the middle of the book at the start and I think that this really builds up a strange feel, because we do not know the backstory.

I loved it and thought it had a great, unpredictable plot – I think David Farr did an incredible job writing and thinking up the plot of this story, seeing as it is his first book. As we know, at the start of the start of the book it features Rachel on the airship. Later on, when we get introduced to the backstory, we find out that Rachel (who is a courageous 12 year old girl) and her brother Robert’s (who is a smart, 14 year old boy) father takes them to steal the magical book from Krasnia public lending library, they are forced to flee Krasnia and protect the Book of Stolen Dreams before it gets into the wrong hands – the hands of evil president Charles Malstain, who knows the book’s secret.
Rachel and Robert race to find out the secret before it is too late, while at the same time, saving Krasnia, as well as their father!

Personally, I would recommend this book to 9-14 year olds because it has quite a complicated structure and uses complex, powerful verbs. I think the style or genre of the book was a mystery or fantasy because they have to find out the book’s secret!

The Book Of Stolen Dreams by Davis Farr isn’t really my type of book I would read but it is a very good book and it is very interesting and mysterious. The main characters in the book are Rachel and Robert and the President Malstain. They are in all of the chapters. The relationship is very close with Rachel and Robert and they knew everything about each other and are always together. The key events in the book are when Rachel and Robert are in danger because they where helping their father steal a forbidden book. Rachel and Robert try and help him escape but the president knows all their secrets and will do anything to snatch the books magic for himself. if he gets the book, he could destroy everything.

The way the book is written is very engaging and gripping and every time I stopped reading i wanted to read more. The genre is mystery. it was a very good book and I wanted to read more because i wanted to know what was coming next. I also liked how the different chapters was about a different character each time.

I would definitely recommend this book for probably age ten plus.
